Mr. S.W. was driving alone and pulled over for a traffic stop.  The arresting officer found a Tupperware container of methamphetamine in plain sight on the passengers seat next to Mr. S.W.’s jacket.  At trial, defense argued that there was a lack of physical evidence (fingerprints and DNA).  In addition, evidence was presented that the car was owned and registered to another individual and recently loaned to Mr. S.W.  The jury agreed with the defense’s position that the State could not reach their burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt and found Mr. S.W. not guilty.
